The memorial stands in the first Rousse city square – the Alexandrovski Square. It was made by the architect N. Lazarov who received his degree in architecture in Paris, and the sculptor Zheko Spiridonov.
This memorial honours the killed soldiers from the famed Fifth Rousse Infantry Regiment. It is a granite pillar on a pedestal placed on three granite steps.
